BERR also says that it has published the draft statutory instrument The Companies Act 1985 (Annual Return) Regulations 2008, which will bring changes into force for annual returns made up to dates on or after 1 October 2008 which mean that no company is required to file the names and addresses of all its members. These requirements relating to the provision of names and addresses of members are the same as those in the Companies Act 2006 (Annual Return and Service Addresses) Regulations. In addition, a statutory instrument The Companies (Disclosure of Address) Regulations 2008 with an effective date of 1 October 2009 has also been published for consultation, with a closure date of 11 July 2008 for the consultation. This SI deals with the situations in which Companies House will be able to disclose directors' residential addresses to the authorities and to credit reference agencies.
